Training Course

A three-day long course "GIS for Beginners" - will be organised especially for school teachers/students and interested learners. The training aims to instill basic concepts of mapping and GIS along with their application in various fields. The training will include extensive hands-on exercise.

Exhibition (15 November 2000)

There will be an exhibition open to the public comprising of posters, maps, atlases, and other GIS related documents. The exhibition will have a display of various GIS applications carried out by different organisations in Nepal.

This competition will be on geography and GIS.  It aims to cover a basic understanding of geography and questions about GIS. The targeted participants are school students.

During the exhibition, a demonstration of "GIS and its application" will be staged for the public. This will help students and others to understand GIS better.

Release of “GIS for Beginner” Book  (15 November 2000)

A book entitled "GIS for Beginners" will be released to mark this day. The book will provide a basic background of GIS technology and is especially targeted to students and new GIS users.
