Introduction

Geography is a science that deals with place and space in relation to their characteristics. The earth's surface is host to biotic communities. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) provide a computer-based tool for mapping and analysing objects and changes that happen on earth, by combining the power of a database with visualization offered by maps.
